Plant Material

Plant selection must include environmental factors as well as aesthetics. Soil characteristics, sun and shade, anticipated moisture, height and width, as well as texture all contribute to the success or failure of a planting plan.

Deer browsing is often a consideration in the more rural properties. Plant material not likely to be eaten is selected in these situations. Screening and seasonal color are examples of aesthetics.
