FAQ's
1. Why do you ask for a retaining fee?
- to measure a property,
- to visit with you,
- to select plant material that is appropriate for your property,
- to enter the data into AutoCAD
- to develop a customized accurate estimate and contract
This fee is deducted from your contract price should you opt for us to do the work. A detailed breakdown of the landscape features and a drawing of your property represents as many as three to four days of professional consultation time.
2. Are plants guaranteed? If so, for how long?
All plant material is guaranteed for one year provided no physical damage has caused its failure.
3. How often do I water my plants and lawn if I do not have irrigation?
Water your garden in the evening after 5PM as this will minimize water loss via evaporation while maximizing the available water to your plant material.
4. How can I keep deer out of my garden?
If you have deer grazing in the area, there are no guaranteed remedies. There are listings of plant material that deer do not prefer to eat as well as chemical deterrents such as predator urines marketed under a variety of names that do deter deer sometimes, but again, nothing is guaranteed.
5. What can I expect from your fertilization program?
- Plant vigor encourages blossoms and leaf health; the result of well timed and proper fertilization formulations and rates.

- Deep root fertilization for you trees and shrubs delivers nutrients directly to the root zone.
6. Do you offer organic fertilization?
- Yes. Compost distributed on the soil surface will leach its way into the soil where it can be absorbed by the root systems. This is a relatively slower process as compared to our liquid formulations.
7. Do chemicals present any health hazards to our children or pets?
- There is a 24 hour window after spraying when pets and children should be kept off the treated areas. After this time, there is no health risk to humans or pets.
